INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb shrimp (clean/devein with shell on)
- 1 medium onion
- 1 small carrot
- 1 small sweet pepper
- 1 pimento
- 1 hot pepper
- 4 leaves chadon beni (culantro)
- 3 cloves grated garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp soyabean oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp peanut oil
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 ½ tsp JGM PRODUCTS Chinese Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp JGM PRODUCTS cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp JGM PRODUCTS paprika
- 1 tsp JGM Parsley
METHOD:
- Season shrimp with grated garlic, chopped chadon beni, pimentos, paprika, chinese seasoning and paprika
- Slice carrots, sweet peppers and onions (can be done in chunks)
- Chop hot pepper and add to heated soyabean oil in pan/wok on medium flame
- Fry the pepper for roughly 1 min with the pot covered
- Add carrots, sweet peppers and onions
- Add ketchup, soy sauce, peanut oil, sesame oil, oyster sauce and water
- Cover pot and let it simmer for roughly 2 mins
- Add seasoned shrimp.
- Cover pot and cook on medium heat for 2-3 mins
- Adjust salt if necessary
- TIME TO EAT!
Here is a quick demo of how it is done. In this video I did not add the raw peppers to the hot oil as i wanted a mild spice level but I prefer that way (adding the peppers to the oil)… so you can adjust accordingly and do it how you prefer. Also, no pimento and chadon beni were used in the video but you can feel free to add them (they will give a better flavor for sure).
