MARINATED GRILLED GARLIC SHRIMP (Makara Restaurant, Buccoo, Tobago)

SHRIMP LOVERS GET READY FOR THIS MEAL!

Shrimp is normally the first to catch my attention on a menu…especially when it’s grilled so of course my choice for lunch was none other than marinated grilled shrimp. The meal, as stated on the menu, consisted of shrimp, julienne vegetables with either Moroccan couscous/risotto. Instead of the couscous/risotto, I opted for rice…you probably thinking ‘what???’ Lol but as I keep saying, I am a sucker for rice.

From the price ($180TT) I will admit I was a bit concerned as I thought it was expensive for such a simple meal. My concerns vanished however when the meal arrived (which was not a long wait at all). What a beautiful dish this was! The shrimp were fantastic size and there a lot more than expected (one of my concerns with shrimp meals is the size of shrimp and quantity I will get). The decor on the plate was so inviting and the meal was hot! One of the things I look for at any restaurant is the temperature at which food is served. Once it’s hot, it usually means it was just prepared.

Enough from eating with my eyes. Now let my taste buds do the talking right? πŸ™ˆ Well I’m sorry to say but my taste buds were in heaven with this dish so talking was limited lol. This was one of the best meals I had while in Tobago on this trip. Talk about immense flavors! It was superb. Portion was great and the taste and presentation were on point!

Chatting with the hubby in between the meal, while overlooking the ocean with the view of fishing boats on the water was an amazing and relaxing setting. The overall decor and colors at this restaurant was so fitting to the island vibes.

Conveniently located just off Buccoo Road, Makara restaurant is a ‘must visit’. I will say that it is more on the fine dining side especially with the pricey options and limited menu options but I guarantee it’s worth it!

The staff was so friendly that it made the experience even more enjoyable.

See you again Makara Restaurant! πŸ˜€
